Here are a list of places to visit whether it's by yourself or with your family

Attractions in Mecca Worth Visiting

The Abraj Al Bait Clock Tower a.k.a The Clock Tower is next to the Haram and near McDonalds, KFC, Al Bayk, STC, Zain etc. essentially all of the major retailers and stores, like Bin Dawud are all nearby in this same area. The complex includes hotels, retail shops, and food outlets - inside the tower, the Clock Tower Museum provides information on the building's construction for anyone interested. The upper floors have some of the highest views across Mecca, seeing all the nearby buildings across the area. Overall it's a great place to visit before or even after Prayer.

Moving away from the city, Jabal al-Nour might be of interest to adventurers in Mecca. The mountain is has an uneven walking route, which takes between 45 minutes to over an hour to climb, depending on how fast they go. At the top, the views are tremendous - being able to see all across Mecca seeing all sorts of buildings and cars go by below.

For anyone not wanting to climb/walk an entire mountain The Makkah Museum presents the history and development of the city. It contains all sorts of exhibits such as historical photographs, and archaeological objects, as well as scaled down models showing how Mecca has changed over time and what it looks like on a smaller scale. The museum is usually less crowded than many outdoor sites, making it easier to see the displays.

Another interesting place could be the Thawr Cave located on The mountain Thawr and is reached through a much more longer and harder climb compared to other mountains. The path is also less developed so it is visited less frequently. However, if your interested in visiting a more quieter and scenic mountain this might be it!
